Cycling in Airolo

June 6th, 2014

Many of our Ride25 routes pass through mountains – in particular our Geneva to Milan Leg 3 route. On this leg, we take in the famous Nufenen Pass – the highest pass in Switzerland. The first video below shows the route (as taken from a car) and highlights the incredible scenery – all the better seen by bike!

The other videos give very useful tips on how to climb and descend mountains.  Pour yourself a long cool drink and sit back and enjoy!

I find the cliff energy bars are perfect for long rides. I can’t stomach gels so on hard hills I take jelly beans to pop along the way.

I tend to use flapjacks, bananas and Snickers bars. On long rides, A bagel with peanut butter always goes down well. The one item an hour tip really works as well supplemented with energy drinks and gels…A mate I train with swears by jelly babies.
