Yes, it’s official! Next Sunday 30th August 2015 you will be able to tune into BBC2 to watch Ride25 pitch our cycling holidays and supported cycling tours business to the five ‘Dragons’ on the hit show.

The eagle-eyed amongst you may have spotted Ride25’s CEO, John Readman at the end of tonight’s BBC2 Dragons’ Den show on the preview for next week’s show.  The show will be aired at 8pm on Sunday 30th August – but you’ll have to tune in to find out whether or not our bid was successful as we have been sworn to secrecy!

Our show was filmed at the end of May this year when John and two fellow Ride25 riders cycled their way into the ‘Den’ in Manchester where the popular long-running series is now filmed.

Dragons Den and Cycling HolidaysThe show challenges entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas to five Dragons willing to invest their own cash.  This series features three new Dragons joining fellow tycoons Deborah Meaden and Peter Jones:  Nick Jenkins (founder of the online greeting card website Moonpig); Touker Suleyman (retail entrepreneur and owner of high-end fashion brands Hawes & Curtis and Ghost – also investor in Bikesoup – an online marketplace for new and used bicycles) and Sarah Willingham (restaurant entrepreneur who was responsible for the success of the Bombay Bicycle Indian restaurant chain).

John says of his meeting with the Dragons as “one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. During my 3 minute pitch to the Dragons about our cycling tours and holidays business, I could feel my left leg shaking, but as I eased into it, I found my stride.  However, it all went by in a bit of a blur and looking back, it was a bit of an out-of-body experience – especially given the fact that I was standing there in my lycra!

Make sure you tune into BBC2 on Sunday 30th August 2015 at 8pm to find out what the Dragons thought of Ride25’s cycling holiday business and whether or not they decided to invest.
