Fundraising

HOW MUCH HAVE THE PIONEERS RAISED FOR 1MORECHILD?

So far we have raised nearly £1 million across the first 9 legs. Our aim is to raise at least £2 million by the time we really Australia:

WHAT ARE THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR SPONSORSHIP?

We have put together a number of packages but are also open to offers from anyone for anything.

Cyclists pay for the costs of the shirts, banners etc so all the money given in sponsorship goes directly to 1moreChild. The more you sponsor the largest exposure your logo will get.

Harry Ferdinando, the founder of 1moreChild is normally on the Pioneers trips either as a cyclist or support cred so you will have plenty of opportunity to hear more about what great things the money you are raising does.

A number of places on the ride have been saved for Sponsors even if they are not Pioneers.

The following companies were the sponsors on the last leg. Orega continue their very generous donations that began in 2014 and have got more generous every year!

WHAT ABOUT INDIVIDUAL SPONSORSHIP?

Please do create your own personal sponsorship page (we recommend Virgin Money as they charge less than other sites) or use the Virgin fundraising page to raise money by sending it to all your contacts.

WHAT IMPACT HAS THE SPONSORSHIP HAD?

Since the cycle began 1moreChild has been able to take on many more children – growing the population from 50 to 240+. This has included taking on new houses and staff.

Some of the children are now leaving school and with the support of 1moreChild some have started local businesses supporting themselves.  Others are beginning to win places at University.  Angella (Stephen) Gabriel is one example who started a 5 year course in Medicine at Kampala University in January 2021 – his costs during the course will be covered by 1moreChild.

Watch the video below shot during a trip by Pioneers in 2017 to find out more about the impact the fundraising has had on the children.

What will you pledge to be a sponsor?

A BIT MORE ON
Fundraising

The Pioneer is really a unique group of high achievers! A high percentage of the pioneer group founded businesses.  Many have exited and are investing in a diverse range of businesses / interests. We typically have 15-20 corporate sponsors each year – mostly entrepreneurial businesses – I think they get great value:

  • A useful corporate responsibility piece for your company – use it in your comms – this is an area that some sponsors do brilliantly and others should do more to get more value from. Great association with raising money for good causes, being an adventurous leader and being super fit!
  • Logo exposure across the trip – printed on all 500 shirts, daily cloth maps etc.
  • Logo on the website & sponsorship page.
  • Logo on 30ft Banner used at the start & finish.
  • 100% of the sponsorship goes straight to the charity – even the shirt & printing costs etc are paid by the cyclists.
  • 1morechild has no western costs / Head office / fundraising costs so all the money given really tackles the problem
  • As a sponsor you can invite non Pioneers to participate in this leg – is there a client / friend or colleague you’d like to bring along?
