4-Ride25-Geneva-to-MilanRide25 was set up by friends and travel enthusiasts John Readman and Rob Hamilton after they experienced an incredible response to a UK to Australia charity cycle ride, which raised money for the African children’s charity 1morechild. The event was so popular that Rob and John wanted to open it up to a wider audience, with the aim of giving individuals, groups of friends, charities and companies the opportunity to see the world by bike (and if they so choose, complete all 25 legs to cycle all the way from the UK to Down Under)

After ‘Welcome to Yorkshire’ won the bid for bringing the Grand Depart of the 2014 Tour de France to Yorkshire, and with such a buzz in the air about cycling not just in Yorkshire but the whole of the UK, John and Rob felt that if they were going to set up Ride25 it was now or never.  And so Ride25 was born.

The original group of cyclists, the ‘Ride25 Pioneers’ are continuing their journey to the land Down Under and will be embarking on their 5th leg from Rome to Bari in June 2016.
