John’s 40th Birthday Extravaganza!

John’s 40th Birthday Extravaganza!

To celebrate John’s 40th birthday we would love you to join us at the Riley Smith Hall in Tadcaster on the 6th August 2016, for a good old fashion booze up, feed and a bit of a boogie!

**Please scroll to the bottom of the page to RSVP**

WHERE AND WHEN?

The Riley-Smith Hall, 28 Westgate, LS24 9AB Tadcaster (click here for MAP)

Saturday 6th August

7.30 – arrival drinks

9pm approx – Pie and mash supper

12.30 – carriages

THEME:

There will be a fancy dress theme, so get your thinking hats on… and dress up as something or someone beginning with the letter “J”

FOOD AND FIZZ:

There will be amazing Yorkshire Ale & local Pies,… plenty of fizz and wine shipped in courtesy of a friendly international cycling holiday firm!  We managed to get a lot of wine in the back of the Ride25 Discovery!

We have booked an amazing band, so don’t forget your dancing shoes. Please also bring your partner (If we haven’t invited them already).  Let us know on the RSVP form please.

Hotels:

York is probably the best option as there is plenty to do and see in York and it’s only a short cab ride to the party in Tadcaster. As a popular tourist destination there are many choices of hotels.  A few recommended ones are:

Nice hotels to make a special weekend of your trip to God’s own country!

Royal York Hotel

The Grand Hotel

Hotel du Vin

Other Hotels:

Premier Inn

Hilton Hampton

Park Inn

Booking.com link preloaded with the right date so you can see all options HERE

There are lots of  rooms and flats in York on Airbnb

Alternatively you could stay anywhere near Tadcaster, such as Wetherby, Boston Spa or East/North Leeds.

I would suggest not driving as we have plenty of booze to get through!  A list of local taxi numbers is at the bottom of the page.

Travel:

We recommend if you are staying in central York and coming up from London to get the train – it’s 1hr 50mins on the fast train from Kings Cross.  Book your ticket now and it should not be too expensive.  Also a lot safer getting home with a hang over!

Presents:

Your presence is far more important than presents, but if you would like to give something, please donate whatever you can afford to 2 charities that mean a lot to me:

St Leonard’s Hospice (where we said goodbye to my Dad when he was too young)

& 1morechild – the amazing charity in Uganda that helps change the lives of 100s of children.
