Riding for a Brighter Future: Ugandan orphans take on the UCI Cycling World Championships

In the world of cycling, the UCI Cycling World Championships is an event that attracts the best riders from across the globe, all vying for success on the grand stage.

But this year’s championships will be particularly remarkable, as it marks a significant milestone for two young adults from Uganda – Paul Lomuria and Lorot Laurence. These two extraordinary individuals, who hail from the streets of Jinja, have overcome incredible challenges and secured their place in the prestigious event.

1moreChild, a small charity based in Jinja, Uganda, has played a crucial role in the lives of these young athletes. The organisation’s mission is to support vulnerable children by providing them with essential resources, such as food, shelter, clothing, medical care, and access to education.

By creating a nurturing environment, 1moreChild and its sponsors have helped empower children to overcome adversity and reach their full potential.

Since its inception in 2010 , we have raised an impressive £1.5 million, with a target of £4 million.
